In 2021, Amelia Goodman, a passionate reader and lifelong book lover, felt the need for a book tracking app that not only provided the tools to manage her ever-growing reading lists but also fostered a sense of community and connection with other readers. Frustrated that the only existing option was Amazon-owned Goodreads, Amelia set out to create a space that was not only functional but also beautiful and welcoming—something that truly reflected the joy of reading.
What started as a personal project has since grown into a vibrant community supported by a lovely team of over 20 dedicated volunteers who share our vision. Together, we’ve built Bookworm Reads into a reader-first platform that champions the ecosystem we all love—supporting authors, celebrating independent bookstores and libraries, and making it easier for readers to connect with each other. We’re here to uplift and preserve the world of books, ensuring that the joy of reading continues to thrive for everyone.
